“Wait、_Expect”和“Look_forward_to”的区别，wait的用法

“Wait”和“expect”都有“等待”的意思，他们之间有什么区别？“Expect”和“look forward to”都有“期待”的意思，他们之间有什么区别？

一、同为“等待”，“expect”与“wait”的区别

请看例句:

I'm expecting guests.

I'm waiting for guests.

中文意思都是“我在等客人”。第1句用的“expect”，着重讲述的是一个人的心理状态，我在等待客人的到来，在等的时候并不排除在做别的事儿。“ Wait for”着重讲述的是等待的动作，在等的时候很少做别的事，就是等。例如:

Travelers are waiting for buses.旅客正在等公共汽车。(坐着或站着等)

Pedestrians are waiting to cross the street.行人正在等待过马路。(站着等)

I'm expecting an answer from him today.我在等他今天的答复。(有期待的意思)

She is expecting some good news.她在等好消息。(描述的是人的心理状态，有期待的意思)。

二、同为“期待”，“expect”与“look forward to”的区别

“ Expect”通常是指有很大的把握期待某事发生，并且在心里相信它会发生，有预期、预料的含义。例如:

He confidently expects to be chosen.他自信地期待被选中。(他预料会被选中)

I expect that it will rain tomorrow.我期待明天下雨。(我预计明天会下雨)

“ Expect”作为“期待”，常常用在上司对下属的沟通情境中，有要求的意思。例如:

I expect you to work harder.我期待你能更努力地工作。(我要求你更努力工作)

I expect you to finish the task on time.我期待你们准时完成任务。(我要求你们准时完成任务)

当你热切盼望，眼巴巴地期待某个人或某事的到来，希望它能赶快发生，通常是好事，就用“look forward to”来表达。例如:

I'm looking forward to seeing you soon.我期待很快见到你。

I'm looking forward to my vacation.我期待假期的到来。

请注意:“ Look forward to”里面的“to”是介词，后面跟名词或者是动名词。

“ I look forward to”与“ I'm looking forward to”意思相同。“ I look forward to”用于正式场合，“ I'm looking forward to”用于非正式场合。例如:
